Dandenong Ranges

Forty-five minutes east of the city and a different climate. Olinda, Sassafras and Puffing Billy at Belgrave are the usual stops, and the roads up through the ranges are narrow, wet more often than not, and genuinely unpleasant to drive if you do not know them. Half-day hires are common; the full day usually adds a lunch and a garden.
